Misconceptions of Islam ( LIVE @ WWW.ISLAMICEVENTS.SG/LIVE )

[Event has ended]

Islam is one of the world's major religions. Given that Islam originated from the Arabian Peninsula and permeated through the civilizations of the world, different communities received Islam in different manners.

Some modern societies today seem to view Islam as an ancient religion, which is tied down to an Arabian tradition that is steeped in its culture and customs and driven largely by its language.

This lively session aims to clarify some of the misconceptions below about Islam in multi-cultural societies as well as what the correct Islamic position really is.

- Islam is a religion for Arabs, Malays & Indians
- Islam is a strict and rigid religion
- Islam encourages polygamy
- Muslims have restricted diets
- Muslims pray to a black stone
- Islam is a religion of witchcraft and black magic
- Islam is a religion of violence
