Dr Sharifah Mariam Aljunied

Dr Mariam Aljunied is a Chartered Educational Psychologist, who is currently a Lead Specialist with the Ministry of Education (MOE). She received her professional training in educational psychology and her PhD in Psychology at University College London, and is a twice-recipient of MOE's Overseas Post-graduate Scholarship Award. As a Lead Specialist, she has made significant contribution to raising the quality of education for children with special needs in Singapore.
Prior to her current role, she was the Assistant Director for Psychological Assessments and Research in the MOE. With over 15 years of experience as an educational psychologist working with mainstream schools in Singapore, she has wide experience providing diagnosis and advice for pupils with learning difficulties, and implementing professional development opportunities for teachers and professionals in psychology and education.
Dr Mariam has contributed to several local and international publications on the subject of learning disabilities and autism, and has been a long-standing volunteer with Yayasan Mendaki and the Autism Resource Center (Singapore).
