Nazri Muhammad

Nazri is the Group Managing Director of the Vector Asia-Pacific Group of Companies and primarily responsible for the overall strategic direction for the Asia-Pacific region since 2006. Nazri also garnered more than 10 years of experience in Fortune 500 Companies, MNCs and SMEs with competencies in credit risk management, fund investments, corporate finance, business advisory services and economic development strategies.

Nazri’s professional career started with Citigroup Asset Management in the late-1990s, specializing in performance analysis, attribution and credit risk review of investment securities. 3 years later, he joined Prudential Asset Management and was directly responsible for the regional credit risk analysis of high yield and investment grade corporate and banks in worth US$5bn in Asia-Pacific. Headhunted to join Fitch Ratings thereafter, Nazri was appointed as its Associate Director – Financial Institutions for the ratings coverage of more than 30 Asian banks.

In 2006, he founded Vector Scorecard (VSAPAC) and received government equity funding from Spring Singapore’s investment subsidiary.

Nazri’s competencies are underscored by his extensive investment research credit risk expertise involving more than 150 corporates/banks, 20,000 listed companies and 5,000 unquoted businesses in Asia-Pacific using artificial intelligence (AI) financial systems that he developed. He has also completed at least 350 CFO-based projects for more than 200 SMEs and 56 social enterprises in Singapore – ranging from business plan, valuation, financial masterplan, budgeting, working capital strategies, fund raising and business modelling.

An international consultant for both private and public sectors, Nazri’s responsibility includes managing capacity building projects with international donor agencies like IFC/Worldbank, Asian Development Bank, Japanese Overseas Development Cooperation (JODC) and the Economic Research Institute of ASEAN (ERIA).

Nazri holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia, an accountancy degree from the University of Queensland, Australia and a Diploma in Accountancy from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. He is also part of a panel of national experts from IFC/Worldbank as well as Asian Development Bank for providing risk management consultancy work to government agencies, financial institutions and SMEs in the region.
