Al-Mishkat Certificate in Islamic Studies is a 1 year multi-disciplinary modular certificate course in Islamic studies carefully curated to facilitate seekers aged 18 to 30 to achieve general competency in the Islamic sciences, as well as a holistic appreciation of the religion in a Nabawi-centric approach.

In a famous Hadith, Prophet Muhammad, Allah's Peace & Blessings be upon him, said, “When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him/her the understanding of the Deen.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari & Muslim).

Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every believing Muslim, evident from the Prophetic tradition (hadith), “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim” (Sunan Ibn Majah).  The Qur'an is replete with verses regarding asking believers to seek knowledge and to reflect.  The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also emphasised a great deal to his companions and followers on the importance of seeking beneficial knowledge, and he attributed a high status to those who tread the path of seeking knowledge.  He said, “Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge” (Sahih Muslim).

Seeking knowledge has no end and one must always seek ways to improve oneself not only in the spiritual matters, but also in areas where he seeks the provisions from Allah The Glorious.  Seeking an understanding of the religion or deen, is considered one of the highest forms of worship.  In a beautiful hadith, the Prophet ﷺ elaborated on the esteem status of the seekers:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He who follows a path in quest of knowledge, Allah will make the path of Jannah easy to him. The angels lower their wings over the seeker of knowledge, being pleased with what he does. The inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and even the fish in the depth of the oceans seek forgiveness for him. The superiority of the learned man over the devout worshipper is like that of the full moon to the rest of the stars (i.e., in brightness). The learned are the heirs of the Prophets who bequeath neither dinar nor dirham but only that of knowledge; and he who acquires it, has in fact acquired an abundant portion." (Sunan Abu Dawud & Jami' at-Tarmidhi)

In this Al-Mishkat Certificate in Islamic Studies course, participants will plunge into fields of the Islamic Jurisprudence, Qur`anic Sciences, the study of Hadiths and the study of Tasawwuf.  This course is suitable for those who have received basic understanding of Islam and would like to continue to an introductory course for advanced stages of the knowledges in Islam.
