RIBA, RIBA, RIBA…

We can complain about this matter day in and day out but the situation is we do not live in an Islamic Society here in Singapore.

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w during his time had warned us of this.
Narrated by Ibn Isa, and recorded in Abu-Dawood Hadith #3325
“There will come a time when you will not be able to find a single person in the world who will not be consuming riba. And if anyone claims that he is not consuming riba then surely the dust of riba will reach him.”

And that time is already here.

Did you know?

When you are a child, you parents would have open a bank account with a savings plan. Did you know the Bank gives 0.05%-2% interest of what's in your bank account every year?

Did you know?

When you begin to work and your employers contribute CPF that itself will generate compounding interest yearly?

Let's not event start with Credit Cards.

The moment a late payment is shown, the bank will charge you a huge % of interest. Many we know end up paying and paying and it just traps them there.

And as you may know there are many other type of purchases that we made may include interest whether we know it or we don't.

Look. This is Singapore. As crazy as it gets, RIBA is there and as long as the people loves to make money and benefit from it, this system will not go any where soon.

Every where you turn, the inevitable is here and nobody as a citizen can escape this and what's more scary is that even some of us Muslims end up enjoy using the RIBA to go for our holidays. Astargfirullah.

Now is there a way to get out of this?

Well 1st option - denounce your citizenship and move to another country that do not have such policies enforced. We can't guarantee that either because this issue has effected the whole world not just in Singapore.

We know this option seems extreme. Maybe out of a half million of our Muslim population, probably you will hear less than 0.001% of us who would do it. But for most of us, our family is here, our life is here. We love Singapore.

Now the 2nd option - Navigate the Financial System.

Whether you have to save money, rent out your property and flip it at the right time, all these need to be planned out and one needs to understand the situation at that particular point of time. Even buying and selling a car has its time. Yes believe it or not things changes and what you see 10 years ago is not the same as now. Policies, prices and many more.

It is important for any Muslim to understand the game. If you are playing it right, inshallah we can be free of RIBA one day.

Join us in this upcoming seminar to learn more about how some of our people have proven that we can live a RIBA free life in Singapore.

Clearing the Dust ( For Employees )

Why is this for employees?

Generally there are 2 main type of occupation which we categories as Employees ( those who work for others ) and those who are Self Employed ( Freelancing, Employers, etc ). The strategies for these groups are different and hence we will need a separate seminar for the ‘Self Employed' group. So if you are self employed, please do not attend this seminar. We will organise one just for you at a later time.
As an employee in Singapore, you will earn your salary and on top of that your bosses will have to pay you your CPF. For most of you in this group, you will generally accumulate the CPF and eventually pay it out for your first house. Overtime the CPF also generate interest and when you intend to sell your house to purchase the second one, if you don't know you will have to pay this interest called Accrued Interest before you can pay off the next house using your CPF.

What is Accrued Interest? Please google it.
This seminar is specifically not about syariah rules etc etc. It's about strategy. How you as a Muslim in Singapore can navigate the financial system.

Who should attend?
1. Students who are about to graduate and start working.
2. If you are already an employee ( regardless the amount of salary you bring back ). Yes low income earners are also welcome.
3. If you are an employee and you are heavily in debt due to mistakes you made in the past.

Please do not attend if you think:
1. This program will make more money for you. This isn't such seminar.
2. This program will solve your problems over night.

Contents of Seminar

1. Awareness on the different type of Riba one can face during their life time.

2. Navigating the financial waters and strategies to be free of Riba in Singapore.
