How the Quran Honours Women (Muslimah Only)
Fees: $15 (Ladies Only)
Women hold a special place in Islam and, historically, they have played a significant role in the development of Islam. The trials and tribulations they have endured; the patience and perseverance they have displayed; and the resolve and determination they have demonstrated are chronicled in the Quran and Hadiths. These are stories that should not be forgotten. Instead, they should be heralded and shared with all women, for within them lies the wisdom of achieving greatness in Islam and in life, simply by adhering to certain virtues and character values these women held high.
These ladies-only series of talks aims to encapsulate these stories and attempt to instill the positive character values by inspiring attendees to adopt these positive traits and virtues in their everyday life. For them to analyse, understand and emulate the positive character traits these women displayed in the face of adversity and mould their characters with guidance from the Quran and Hadiths.
The core topics that would be discussed in this first session are:
- How the Quran is a gift from Allah
- How Allah honours us and wants to maximise our potential
- How, from within the Quran, we learn that women are treated with greater honour as our Creator, Allah, knows our strengths, needs and weaknesses
- How Women are honoured in relation to Allah, family and society
- Examples of great women in Islam cited in the Quran, and how their acts are honoured
- Why Women who hold on to the Quran will be honoured.
