After two years of hiatus from the annual Singapore Food Festival (SFF), the Malay food culture and heritage returns to the 2015 edition of SFF. AKAR Heritage Social Kitchen will be happening on the two weekends from 24th July to 2nd August 2015 at Culinary Art Studio @ Kampong Glam along North Bridge Road.
Organized by Singapore Halal Culinary Federation (SHCF), the six days AKAR Heritage Social Kitchen will present the past, present and future of Malay heritage cuisine. Held at the first of its kind Halal hybrid kitchen, each chef will host up to a maximum of 35 people per session. Culinary Art Studio @ Kg Glam will also transform itself into an intimate dining room, where the diners will be treated to visual of traditional Malay dining settings and sound of traditional Malay instruments. Diners can also expect a blend of traditional Malay cuisine, presented in the Modern setting.
Chef Sharizal Salleh (Known as Chef Bob), Chef Siti Mastura and Chef Iskander Latiff will be presenting their version of Heritage Malay Cuisine through this series of AKAR Heritage Social Kitchen.

Chef Sharizal Salleh (known as Chef Bob) is a Culinarian and a TV personality with more than 10 appearances in lifestyle cooking show. Often associated with his appearance as Chef Skuter in Asian Food Channel, Chef Bob will be preparing his personal classic Malay heritage cuisine.
Chef Siti Mastura is a celebrity chef and an entrepreneur of her own baking school, Siti's Delights. She is often known for her appearances as guest judge for the Master Chef Malaysia 2011 and as a host for Mediacorp Suria's Vanila baking program. Although Chef Siti is known for her flare in pastries and desserts, she will now be presenting her personal favorite dishes during the Hari Raya festive.
Chef Iskander Latiff, the winner of Channel News Asia's reality cooking competition, The Perfect Meal 2, is often known for his passion in the European cuisine with modern cooking techniques and traditional twist by using herbs & spices of Asia. Currently the Chef De Cuisine of the much talked about restaurant, Coriander Leaf, Chef Iskander is seldom associated with Heritage Malay Cuisine. Through AKAR Heritage Social Kitchen,he will be sharing his version of Modern Malay cuisine.
