course, hadiths

Fees: $95 (for full programme)

Imam Nawawi's collection of 42 hadith brings together some of the most important and pivotal Prophetic traditions. Each tradition encapsulates a great rule of the religion of Islam, described by Islamic scholars as an ‘axis' in Islam. The commentary of the great hadith master Ibn Daqiq al-‘Id (d. 702 Hijri) is concise yet erudite and was the first commentary prepared on Imam Nawawi's collection. This will form the basis for the course programme.

Rarely is there a Muslim home that does not have a copy of Arba'in an-Nawawi. Yet despite its fame and virtue, many are unaware of its profound merits. This 8-week intensive course will allow people to connect with this work in a way they've not been able to do before; with focus on its values and practically internalising its broader significance.

Objectives:

To cover the content of Imam Nawawi's priceless collection over a duration of 8 weeks for the benefit of English speaking Muslims. To familiarise attendees with some of the jawami'ul kalim (short precise speech of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) and narrations addressing essential fundamental concepts. As Imam Nawawi said, “Everyone who desires and looks forward to the Hereafter must be familiar with these hadith because they cover the most important aspects of the religion and offer direction to all forms of obedience of Allah…”

This will allow you to fall in love with hadith further, and also provide an opportunity to memorise some of the ahadith and recognise explanation attached to them. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
