Knowing Our Thinkers' session is a platform were our local scholars presents their research and findings on their book or thesis.

This time round, Dr Syed Khairudin Aljunied will be presenting to you his latest book on 1 great scholar of the Malay archipelago, Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah or known as Hamka.

In this book, Dr Khairudin examines Hamka's ideas about reforming Muslims in the Malay World. Topics such as the role of reason ('aql), thinking with the Quran, sufism, the harmony between adat (culture) and the syariah as well as on the place of women in Muslim society will be covered in this talk.
