JOURNEYS FOR THE EXPECTANT MOTHER
A Spiritual Look at Pregnancy, Birth & Breastfeeding

"Journeys for the Expectant Mother" is a talk that promises the mother and father to rediscover the purpose behind Allah's loan of children to us, and to learn about Allah's design for the mother in delivering her child, and in providing for the child's first nutrition outside the womb.

Sign up or share with your expecting loved ones the beauty of His Design in the Creation of the person called a mother and be not unprepared for this journey like some of us used to be.

Get in touch with speakers who are experienced mothers themselves in their respective fields of Islamic knowledge, pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding, and ask them questions you may have in your own personal journey as an expectant parent.

About the speakers

Ustazah Shameem Sultanah graduated with a Degree in Syari'ah Islamiyyah from Al-Azhar University after which she pursued a post graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology. She has been married for five years and is blessed with two adorable children. She is now a freelance public speaker and conducts classes teaching Arabic, Quranic Literacy and other Islamic-based subjects.

Sis Nur Hanani Surani is an advocate of natural and gentle birth, or one that empowers the mother to deliver with minimal intervention. She is a certified labour coach (doula) who conducts childbirth education talks and workshops under Yaqyn Birth. Visit her website at www.yaqynbirth.com

Sis Nurhidayati Yahya (also known as Umm Umar) is a trained breastfeeding peer counsellor who has been supporting pregnant and postpartum families in breastfeeding since 2010. Currently training as a lactation educator, her breastfeeding practice includes: teaching at Blessed Beginnings, where she conducts smaller, more personalised breastfeeding workshops, administrating the Breastfeeding Muslim Mothers Support Group on Facebook and serving as a peer counsellor and also board member for the Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group (Singapore).
