Modern life is creating stress and we all react the same way. We see the effects in our bodies, our pulses are increased, and we feel the tension in our muscles. The causes of stress in modern life emerge from the too many obligations we have to handle everyday to the modern way of negative thinking.
We have all experienced stress periods in our life. This is something normal. Indeed, in small levels stress can be constructive! When, however, is a problem?
Is this a period in your life that you have many outstanding obligations; Do you worry about the future? Do you experience problems at home or at work? Do you work a lot and you are not resting enough? Do you feel trapped in situations that you cannot change? come and join us at The sacred path of love 2012
The Islamic Conference, The Sacred Path of Love, has by the permission of Allah, Most High, entered its third year. We are pleased to inform you the title and theme of this year conference will be, ‘The Sacred Path of Love: The meaning of Servanthood’.
The meaning of Servanthood was chosen as this year’s theme because we felt it is a necessary follow-up on our two previous theme, ‘Finding God in times of tribulation (2010)’ and ‘The Path of Gratitude (2011)’. The Messengers of Allah (upon them be salutations of peace and blessings) were sent but with the message of Divine Oneness and the means to Allah was but though total submission which leads to finding peace in one’s heart in the care of Allah.
Human beings were created for the Worship of the One God as stated in the Quran: ‘I have only created Jinns and Men that they may serve Me.’ In the famous Tafsir of our Master Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu an), he says the meaning of ‘Serve/Worship Me’ is ‘to know Me’.
Being a servant is about total conformity and submission to the Will of Allah, not having a abhorrence to the commandments of Allah nor to the teachings of Sidna Nabi Muhammad (sallahu ahli wa salam). It means to have an awareness of Allah whosesoever the servant might be, knowing that he is under the dominion of Allah.
The Servant of Allah is one who find comfort in the remembrance of his Lord and whose states is beautiful, following the inner states of the perfection of creation, Sidna Nabi. He does not wish for a situation to be removed from him, nor does he desire a newer situation to come, he is pleased with where he is now, for he understands the purpose of his Creator placing him at a certain place and time. He is pleased with the decreed of his Lord with whatever his Lord pleased to do – there is no internal rejection but tranquillity.
That one should know that Allah is not Rabb (Lord) for just five time a days, rather He is Lord in every single moment, sustaining us and guiding us. So it is important for the servant to note that, he is not servant to Allah for just five times a day, rather he is servant to his Lord in all moments, so take care of each breath so as not to transgress the limit of Allah.
This year’s conference like our previous years will be held over two days at the Masjid Sultan auditorium. Our speakers will be speaking on a variety of topics relating to the meaning of Servanthood.
