Lecture 1: The Qur'an and the Newborn

Very often, we marvel at the miracle and beauty of childbirth and newborns. We are awed by their fragility, as we develop instincts to protect them from all harm. Incessant wailing and constant diaper changes aside, they evoke a spectrum of emotions in all of us.

In this lecture, well-known Qur'an teacher and reciter, Ust Zukiflee Bachik, shares with us:
• What Allah says about the various stages of the development of a newborn
• The Qur'anic verses, doa's and prayers recommended for parents during pregnancy
• The various "rites of passage" for the newborn such as tahnik and aqiqah


Lecture 2: Parenting the Sunnah Way

For many of us married couples, life takes a complete about-turn after children come into our lives. Consciously or unconsciously, we pin our hopes, dreams and expectations on the kind of persons they should grow up to be. But what does it really mean to be a parent, and what should we really be aiming our children to become when they grow up?

In this lecture, Hadith and Qur'an teacher, Ust Abdul Malike, shares with us:
• What Allah says about bringing up children;
• What the sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w. says about parenting;
• What are core values parents should instill in their children from young;
• The Surahs and Doa's to recite for a good family, good children, protection against evil eye, etc.
