Muslim Healthcare Outreach Programme

[Event has ended]
Sat, 3 December 2022, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM | English

Fees: $0.00 for free ticket ticket

The Muslim Healthcare Outreach Programme (MHOP) started off as a small student initiative. With increasing recognition and support through the years, it has since grown to become an annual event organised by Muslim healthcare students in Singapore.

MHOP is organised by the undergraduate Muslim students in healthcare courses (NUS, NTU, SIT) and Muslim Healthcare Professionals Association (MHPA) with support from Yayasan MENDAKI. We hope participants will gain valuable insights and be inspired to embark on a meaningful journey in the healthcare career.

Details

MHOP 2022/23 will be organising 2 initiatives:

1) 1-day event

2) Post-event mentorship programme over the course of a few months

Through our 1-day event, MHOP seeks to assist pre-university students interested in a healthcare career by 1) broadening their knowledge on healthcare fields and 2) assisting them in course admissions.

Student attendees will receive opportunities to learn from and engage with both healthcare professionals and undergraduate students from prospective healthcare fields during talks and breakout sessions. The fields covered include Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Radiation Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography, and Dietetics and Nutrition.

Date: 3 December 2022 (Saturday)

Time: 9am-5.30pm

Venue: NUS MD6

MHOP 2022/23 will also be having a post event mentorship programme and job shadowing programme, across the timeline of 4 months. Through the mentorship programme, participants will be matched up with current undergraduate students who can provide advice and support through university applications.

For the job shadowing programme, participants will be given the chance to gain insights on the daily lives of healthcare professionals! These opportunities are subject to availability of our partnered healthcare professionals.

Students may indicate their interest in the mentorship and/or job shadowing programme in the registration form. Near the event date, participants will be added to groups for updates on MHOP.
