Learn to read the Qur'an in this fast-track adult learning course carefully curated for absolute beginners to read the Qur'an confidently and correctly.

Are you an adult, but never had the privilege of learning to read the Qur'an? Do you have trouble reading the Qur'an fluently (baca merangkak)? Do you have doubts or worries about how you are reading the Qur'an, and whether you are reading or pronouncing the alphabets correctly?

Learn to Read - Qur'an for Beginners will be the kickstart you needed to get you on the lifelong road of reading the Qur'an, Insha'Allah. Through these lessons, the keys to understanding the alphabets and how they blend together to form complete verses will be unlocked, along with the phonetic inflections required in reading the Qur'an correctly.

This class will employ image-based learning to impart a memory enhanced journey through the Arabic alphabets, reading methodologies, and, ultimately, impart the skills required to understand to read the Qur'an at a basic level.

Led by Ustadh Abla, a Moroccan native Arabic speaker specialised in working with adult learners, Learn to Read - Qur'an for Beginners is designed as a fast-track Qur'an reading and recitation class for adults to blend these Qur'an lessons into their busy schedules.

Attendees will learn all aspects of the Arabic letters, proper pronunciation, vocal projection, as well as Qur'anic Arabic writing practices from Zero.

Participants should maintain a deep passion and commitment to learn the reading of the Holy Qur'an. This short, but intensive course will be conducted over 8 lessons. Students are expected to practice between sessions on their own time, to enhance their learning progress and gain mastery of the art of reading Al-Qur'an.

At the end of the course, students will be able to recognise and read Arabic words, leading them towards taking the first step in the fulfilling and rewarding habit of lifelong reading of the Holy Qur'an, Insha'Allah.

Course Requirements

This course is open to all students, aged 15 and above. No prior knowledge is required. Students who complete this course may progress to Ustadh Abla's Learn to Read - Qur'an for Beginners Part 2 Course.

About the Teacher

Ustadh Mohamed Abla was born in Morocco and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Islamic Law) from Hassan II Mohammedia University in Morocco. He is now a Singapore citizen and an accredited Asatizah (teacher) certified by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board. He spent 9 years in Malaysia's Pusat Ulumuddin in Kedah, Malaysia as an Arabic language teacher and Vice-Principal. He subsequently taught in Singapore for several years at Masjid Darulmakmur & Masjid En-Naeem, before joining in 2007 as its Arabic Language Consultant and Islamic Architecture Consultant. He also conducts regular interpretation assignments involving Arab trainees from Qatar, Bahrain, etc. While Arabic is his native language, he is also proficient with English and Malay. He is now a freelance Qur'an Teacher and has been teaching it for 5 years. He is the author of the popular “24HR Iqra'” book and has successfully organised numerous 24HR Qur'an courses. To date, more than 2000 participants has benefited from his method.
