Radical Forgiveness: Transitioning Beyond Blame
Fees: $48
You can't open up your heart to love again. The heartbreak you went through was enough to make you see love differently. You tell everyone that you won't be able to love again. Who is to be blamed for this pain? Is it the person who hurt you? Is it the person who cheated on you? The person who said: I don't think I want this anymore. Or are you to be blamed?
You fail to let go. You fail to open up your heart. You fail to love again. You fail to forgive and move on.
Sometimes when things happened the way we didn't want them to, we blame everyone else but ourselves. When people hurt us, we blame them for hurting us. We blame them for not apologising. We blame them for breaking our trust. But how often do we blame ourselves for all the disasters that happened to us? Do we apologise? Do we forgive? Do we let go and move on? Do we ask ourselves what we did wrong?
And Allah said:
وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ
Whatever disaster strikes you is for what your hands have earned, yet He pardons much.
Surat Ash-Shura 42:30
Perhaps it's not their fault.
Perhaps they are not to be blamed.
Perhaps it's us?
