Halaqah Series 2014: My Journey, A Ma'al Hijrah Special

[Event has ended]
Thu, 23 October 2014, 7pm - 10 pm | English
Singapore Institute of Management
SIM Malay Cultural & Muslim Society

halaqah, majlis maal hijrah

Fees: Free

Ma'al Hijrah is the new year of the Islamic calendar. Often, even Muslims ourselves tend to overlook this date as our lives are very much influenced by the Gregorian calendar. Therefore, this session serves as a refresher on the Islamic calendar to both Muslims and Non-Muslims, and a platform for reflecting on the past year and planning for the year ahead.

The event will be held the day before the start of Muharram so we can learn about deeds that can be done during that Friday.

Synopsis:
1. Commemorate the Islamic new year, and raise awareness on the Islamic calendar, and the story behind Ma'al Hijrah
2. Reflection session on our own personal hijrah
3. Deeds (amalan) that can be done on Ma'al Hijrah
4. Tips on setting goals and implementing good habits for the year ahead
