Prophet Muhammad (s) has made the pursuit of knowledge incumbent upon all Muslims, male and female. For the seeker, the most important knowledge is the knowledge of Allah. The seeker's understanding of God will bring clarity to the seeker's aims and purposes of seeking all branches of knowledge. Prophet Muhammad also said, "Knowledge is only through study (ta`allum)."

Scholars of Islam often advise that to seek beneficial knowledge, one would need to learn from a qualified teacher, a teacher who has a strong grasp of the knowledge, and one who is also a practitioner of the knowledge that he/she impart. The seeker should also firmly understand the etiquette of learning, observing proper teacher-student manners. The seeker must also practice humility as he/she will realize that the more you learn, the more you will realize how little you know.

Shaykh Ahmad Saad will discuss the importance and prerequisites of seeking sacred knowledge, the etiquette of learning, and the steps in seeking sacred knowledge.
