“Ayyuhal Walad” or “Dear Beloved Son” is a text written by Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali, a letter that he sent to one of his students advising and describing to him the path towards Allah. In this book, Imam Al-Ghazali makes clear the importance of sincere repentance, self-control, self-remonstrance, reflection, overcoming negligence and lust in order to be close to God.
Imbued with love and devotion, knowledge and sincere good deeds, the seeker undertakes a wonderful journey of discovery towards realization and personal enlightenment. The Quran makes abundantly clear the qualities of the believers, those who are looking for Allah's mercy and pleasure,

“And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive. And they who carefully maintain their prayers. Those are the inheritors. Who will inherit the Paradise. They will abide therein eternally.” (Al-Quran, 23: 8-11)

Some of the matters discussed by Imam Ghazali in his text are:

Conditions on Walking the Path of Allah
Benefits on Seeking
Qualities of Teacher or Guide
Outer and Inner Etiquette
Reality of Ihsan
Servitude to God (‘Ubudiyyah)
Reliance on God (Tawakkul)
Sincerity to God (Ikhlas)

The speaker will analyse how the Muslim should be conscious of God in everything that s/he does, for in order to achieve a degree of spirituality, everything should be done in reference to and according with God's pleasure. In other words, this spiritual relationship between the Muslim and God consists in devotion, sincerity, compassion, kindness, giving charity, tolerance, forbearance so as the benefit would extend to family and society.
