Islam and Global Citizenship
The Muslim Expatriates Network (MEX), a part of the AMP Group, will be organising its inaugural event, entitled "Islam and Global Citizenship: A Lecture by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf", on Saturday 30 March 2013 at Singapore Management University.
In this seminar, Imam Feisal, an internationally acclaimed Muslim scholar and Founder/Chairman of The Cordoba initiative, will address the question of a Muslim's rights and obligations to the state as citizens and highlight the similarities between Islamic values and citizenship rights. He will articulate how the modern nation state provides an important platform for the furtherance of positive cooperation with fellow citizens to affirm shared values.
This issue is of utmost importance to new Muslim citizens/residents/expatriates in Singapore especially in light of Singapore's position as a global hub that attracts the best talents worldwide.
