Project Da'waah through Theatre
PROJECT DA'WAAH THROUGH THEATRE – HEART THROUGH ART !
Many Muslim youth, at some point – sooner or later, struggle with their passions and their religion.
Music. Jamming. Breakdancing. Media industry. Artists. Painters. Actors.
– How do these fit into Islam or is there no space for creativity and artistic expression in the fastest growing religion of this time?
3 years of research, trial and errors, tears and inevitably, sacrifices - has finally led me to the answer.
I cannot imagine of a more similar parallel for Islam other than Theatre. Yes, you read this right –
T H E A T R E .
This full day workshop aims to share how you can draw similar parallels in your artistic field AND how you can apply both elements and ignite love and compassion within your SELF and the people around you.
Too often, authenticity is covered with a thick slime of pretence, pseudo information and stereotypes.
Join me for an internal and external exploration of both worlds through stimulating activities, physically, emotionally, intellectually and God Willing, – spiritually.
Note : The workshop also aims to equip participants with essential theatre skills – (and no, there are more important things than just being able to act - ;)
Hence participants are required to wear comfortable attire as there will be physical activities involved.

When it's all so confusing right now, with people spreading inaccurate information about Islam and the lack of knowledge and the decline from most of our own Muslim family to step up and make changes – It's time for a change.
In the words of Wajahat Ali, author of “The Domestic Crusaders…
“become participants, not spectators.”
And that's exactly what theatre makes you do.
;)
Noor Mastura has been involved with theatre for 12 years and counting – performing, training and exploring both locally and internationally. Currently, she's pursuing a Professional Diploma in Intercultural Theatre(ITI)- founded on the belief that theatre would have little meaning if it is not connected to life and society.

Keep the passion and keep striving! ;)
Peace.
