Back in 2006, Invoke.sg was started as a portal by MUIS. It was meant to serve as a marketing platform & community-building channel for the Muslim youths in Singapore. The website had “explore-Islam Flash application, interactive mosque locator and 360° virtual tour. It is also equipped with common portal features, such as site membership subscription, mobile services subscription, blogs, RSS feeds, podcasts, vodcasts, threaded discussions forums, surveys and polls and content rating.”
However, participation was low and eventually the buzz surrounding it died.
As recent as a week ago, Invoke.sg was given new life!
It also has a new direction. As opposed to being a portal, it now aims to give a fresh Islamic perspective to the news that you read daily. Currently, Invoke.sg is separated into 4 categories: Arts & Design, Entertainment, Mind & Soul. In the future, as the website matures and content is being cultivated, these categories will expand to include Science, Health, Business, Politics etc.
The alive-again Invoke.sg is still new and struggling to make its presence felt. Here is where your participation matters. Give your feedback, recommend links, leave your comments. Bring life back into Invoke.sg and let it be a proof that Singapore Muslim Youths are not apathetic but are tech-savvy, up-to-date and socially aware.

I call upon the youth wings from all local mosques and unaffiliated youths to contribute to the growth of Invoke.sg! Let Invoke.sg be the civic space & platform where you suggest changes, start reforms and create a distinct Singaporean Muslim identity. One person might not make much difference, but great things can happen when people come together to share ideas, resources and strength.
