Understanding JINN, Exorcism & Magic
Fees: $24 or $19 early bird
Interest in the supernatural has always been deep in S.E Asia. People have been enthused with matters related to jinn and magic, and there remain plenty of misunderstandings about its respective position in Islam. Further impeded by cultural practises among the older generation and a general lack of awareness of correct manners of exorcism, we are faced with multitude of practises that run counter to what the shari'ah condones.
This one-day workshop (in Malay language) will focus on 5 mains themes, namely:
i. The history of jinn and magic
(Apakah sejarah jin dan sihir?)
ii. Status of magic in Islam
(Benarkah sihir dibolehkan dalam Islam?)
iii. Recognising jinn possession and effects of magic
(Bagaimanakah seseorang jika dirasuk?)
iv. Apparatus magic practitioners use
(Apakah peralatan yang sering digunakan ahli sihir?)
v. The cure to overcome jinn and possession and magic (Apa kemudian penawarnya?)
Details
There will also be opportunity for the attendees to see examples of items typically used by those who try to summon jinns or practise the dark arts of magic. The respected instructor will explain their significance and enable attendees to recognise some of the commonly associated paraphernalia, and ways to discard them. Pre-seminar questions related to the topic will be gleaned from the attendees and addressed at the end of the session.
