'Light' is by itself bright, and it causes the brightness of other things. In Islam, there are some things regarded as the sources of this ‘light'. These include: The Holy Qur'an, knowledge, wisdom, faith, guidance, the traditions of Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and scholars.

Although aware of these sources, people are still searching for the light of truth at the end of the ‘tunnel'. So near yet so far, people have undergone and attained knowledge, wisdom and faith, yet they have difficulties in grasping the aforementioned. Why is it so?

Come and join us in this engaging talk where the speaker will share about finding ways in seeking the light of knowledge and ways to illuminate our hearts.

Muslims believe that the present life is a trial in preparation for the next realm of existence. Also important is the belief in the Afterlife, as well as what awaits us in the grave and on the Day of Judgment.

It is mentioned in Holy Quran (45: 26):

Say; “It is Allah Who gives you life, then gives you death; then He will gather you together for the Day of Judgment about which there is no doubt”, But most men do not understand.

Faith in life after death is one of the six fundamental beliefs required of a Muslim to complete his faith. Rejecting it renders all other beliefs meaningless.

So how can one live a God-conscious life in this temporary world? What incentive has he to have to suffer the trials of life with patience and avoid overindulgence in worldly pleasures?

Belief in the Day of Judgment (Qiyaamah) is one of the fundamentals and pillars of faith. The Qur'an reminds us time and again that this universe has been created temporarily and that at an appointed time, it will surely be annihilated. The Qur'an and the Hadith have however informed us about the various signs, which will occur prior to Qiyaamah, indicating its approach towards us. It is indeed unfortunate that despite having before us the various warnings and signs, which have also been mentioned by Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and authentically narrated down to us by his noble companions, certain people professing to be Muslims attach no importance whatsoever to these teachings about Qiyaamah.

What are the major signs before the end of the World? Some of the signs already exist; why are some people still oblivious to them and go on searching for the worldly things?
