What comes to mind when we mention about Fashion in Islam? We bet you will be visualising the trendy hijab ladies cat walking on the runaway which you may see in magazines or women covered from top to bottom. Or good looking men in jubah with various sarban style. Well there's nothing wrong if you happen to think about Islamic Fashion in that manner. In reality if we happen to cross the different countries of this world, you will see all kinds of clothes and dressings. What matters is that it follows the guidelines, Insya Allah.

So what are the guidelines?

• Is Islam very strict that we get scolded when we enter the mosque inappropriately dressed?
• Do we wear clothes for Allah or for people's praises?
• Do we wear clothes that distract others from their solat? Is it alright to solat with the devil's symbols and other evil “nice” design on our T-shirt,etc.?
• Is it a sin if we wear clothes that stand out and make people stare?
• Do we walk around feeling insecure as you are worried that others may talk?
• Is it just about the physical appearances or is there something more important?

In this upcoming forum, we would love to invite you to listen to Ustaz Syed Esa Alkaff, who has more than 20 years of experience teaching and sharing about Islam to converts and reverts in Singapore. He will touch on the topic of being good from the inside and out.

The second speaker, Ustazah Fara Zidah bte Jelani will touch on the attire, guidelines and how one can overcome discrimination. Insyallah.

Joining us are two celebrity Chefs - Chef Siti Masturah and Chef Bob. They will share with us their recent journeys to become better Muslims.

Ustazah Fara Zidah bte Jelani
